碳化硅概術(shù)：

碳化硅（SiC）是用石英砂、石油焦（或煤焦）、木屑為原料通過電阻爐高溫冶煉而成。碳化硅在大自然也存在罕見的礦物，莫桑石。 碳化硅又稱碳硅石。在當(dāng)代C、N、B等非氧化物高技術(shù)耐火原料中，碳化硅為應(yīng)用最廣泛、最經(jīng)濟(jì)的一種。可以稱為金鋼砂或耐火砂。 碳化硅是用石英砂、石油焦（或煤焦）、木屑（生產(chǎn)綠色碳化硅時(shí)需要加食鹽）等原料在電阻爐內(nèi)經(jīng)高溫冶煉而成。目前我國工業(yè)生產(chǎn)的碳化硅分為黑色碳化硅和綠色碳化硅兩種，均為六方晶體，比重為3.20～3.25，顯微硬度為2840～3320kg/mm2。

碳化硅有黑碳化硅和綠碳化硅兩個(gè)常用的基該品種，都屬α-SiC。①黑碳化硅含SiC約95%，其韌性高于綠碳化硅，大多用于加工抗張強(qiáng)度低的材料，如玻璃、陶瓷、石材、耐火材料、鑄鐵和有色金屬等。②綠碳化硅含SiC約97%以上，自銳性好，大多用于加工硬質(zhì)合金、鈦合金和光學(xué)玻璃，也用于珩磨汽缸套和精磨高速具。此外還有立方碳化硅，它是以特殊工藝制取的黃綠色晶體，用以制作的磨具適于軸承的超精加工，可使表面粗糙度從Ra32～0.16微米一次加工到Ra0.04～0.02微米。 　　

碳化硅由于化學(xué)性能穩(wěn)定、導(dǎo)熱系數(shù)高、熱膨脹系數(shù)小、耐磨性能好，除作磨料用外，還有很多其他用途，例如：以特殊工藝把碳化硅粉末涂布于水輪機(jī)葉輪或汽缸體的內(nèi)壁，可提高其耐磨性而延長使用壽命1～2倍；用以制成的高級(jí)耐火材料，耐熱震、體積小、重量輕而強(qiáng)度高，節(jié)能效果好。低品級(jí)碳化硅（含SiC約85%）是極好的脫氧劑，用它可加快煉鋼速度，并便于控制化學(xué)成分，提高鋼的質(zhì)量。此外，碳化硅還大量用于制作電熱元件硅碳棒。 　

碳化硅的硬度很大，具有優(yōu)良的導(dǎo)熱性能，是一種半導(dǎo)體，高溫時(shí)能抗氧化。 

碳化硅用途：

碳化硅主要有四大應(yīng)用領(lǐng)域，即： 功能陶瓷、高級(jí)耐火材料、磨料及冶金原料。目前碳化硅粗料已能大量供應(yīng)，不能算高新技術(shù)產(chǎn)品，而技術(shù)含量極高的納米級(jí)碳化硅粉體的應(yīng)用短時(shí)間不可能形成規(guī)模經(jīng)濟(jì)。 　　

1作為磨料，可用來做磨具，如砂輪、油石、磨頭、砂瓦類等。 　　

2作為冶金脫氧劑和耐高溫材料。 　　

3高純度的單晶，可用于制造半導(dǎo)體、制造碳化硅纖維。　 　　

主要用途：用于3—12英寸單晶硅、多晶硅、砷化鉀、石英晶體等線切割。太陽能光伏產(chǎn)業(yè)、半導(dǎo)體產(chǎn)業(yè)、壓電晶體產(chǎn)業(yè)工程性加工材料。

磨料磨具

　　主要用于制作砂輪、砂紙、砂帶、油石、磨塊、磨頭、研磨膏及光伏產(chǎn)品中單晶硅、多晶硅和電子行業(yè)的壓電晶體等方面的研磨、拋光等。

化工

有色金屬

　　利用碳化硅具有耐高溫，強(qiáng)度大，導(dǎo)熱性能良好，抗沖擊，作高溫間接加熱材料，如堅(jiān)罐蒸餾爐，精餾爐塔盤，鋁電解槽，銅熔化爐內(nèi)襯，鋅粉爐用弧型板，熱電偶保護(hù)管等.

鋼鐵

　　利用碳化硅的耐腐蝕，抗熱沖擊耐磨損，導(dǎo)熱好的特點(diǎn)，用于大型高爐內(nèi)襯提高了使用壽命.

冶金選礦
